Aussie Traveller to Acquire Camec – What This Means for the Caravan Industry

There is some significant news in the Australian caravan and RV industry, with Aussie Traveller announcing that it will acquire Camec from Fleetwood Limited, with the acquisition expected to be completed on 1 September 2026.

As a retailer of products from both Aussie Traveller and Camec, we’re pleased to see two long-established names in the Australian caravan industry coming together.

Two Well-Known Caravan Brands Coming Together

Camec has been a familiar name within the Australian and New Zealand caravan, RV and marine industries for many years. Its extensive range includes caravan doors, awnings, appliances, cladding, windows, hardware and a wide variety of replacement parts and accessories.

Aussie Traveller is also a long-standing Australian supplier, with a history dating back to 1988. The company supplies an extensive range of caravan and outdoor products and has built a strong national distribution network servicing manufacturers, trade customers and retailers throughout Australia and New Zealand.

The acquisition will bring the two businesses under the same ownership, creating one of the largest suppliers of caravan and outdoor components and accessories in Australia and New Zealand.

What Could the Acquisition Mean for Customers?

For caravan owners, repairers and retailers such as The Caravan Shop, one of the most encouraging aspects of the announcement is the potential for improved product availability and distribution.

Aussie Traveller has indicated that bringing the two businesses together will provide:

  • A broader overall range of caravan and outdoor products

  • Greater inventory holdings

  • An expanded distribution network

  • Further investment in new product development and innovation

  • A more streamlined ordering process across the Aussie Traveller and Camec ranges

For customers trying to locate replacement caravan parts, having stronger stock holdings and a more integrated supply network could be particularly beneficial.

Camec Will Continue Operating as Usual Until September

Until the acquisition is completed, Camec will continue operating under Fleetwood Limited as normal.

From 1 September 2026, Camec is expected to become part of Aussie Traveller and gradually integrate into Aussie Traveller's operations.

Customers should therefore continue to see the Camec brand and its familiar range of caravan products, with Aussie Traveller planning to support and invest in the long-term growth of the Camec business.

What Does This Mean for The Caravan Shop?

At The Caravan Shop, we already stock and source a wide range of products from both Camec and Aussie Traveller.

For us, having these two major suppliers working together could make it easier to source products across both ranges and potentially improve access to stock over time.

As with any major business transition, there may be some changes to product codes, ordering systems or distribution arrangements as the businesses are integrated. We will continue to monitor these changes and update our product listings where necessary.

Most importantly, we will continue helping our customers find the caravan parts and accessories they need, including products from both the Camec and Aussie Traveller ranges.

If you are looking for a particular Camec or Aussie Traveller product that you cannot find listed on our website, please feel free to contact us. We may be able to source it for you.
